Poem number one
It was empty at first
Too much pain,
a blank slate
One came then, she was weak
Still, the weak had dominance over it
Two quickly followed as One’s opposite
Weakness met strength, indecision met clarity
Protector of the one outside.
Loneliness called Three forth
She was the innocence long lost
Buried pain and hate summoned Four
With rage to terrify them all
Alliances were made to tame the fourth,
The outside couldn’t know of her.
All would be gone if they knew.
Outsiders must be kept unaware of us.
Us on the inside, inside the it.
Poem 2
We didn’t always work this well
In the beginning there was only one
After tragedy, to rebuild – Survive.
The first became One, an all-purpose.
One took care of all outside business
Everyday, day to day
Then came Two. One’s opposite, companion
Day and Night, Shy and Outspoken
They worked well together, for the most part.
The lack of freedom and play
Brought fourth the innocent Three
A youth that could express compassion
The fourth, Four, was different
Rage and Despair
were all Four could express
One and Two often wondered
how it was possible
For one to house both Three and Four
How anger and joy, regret and hopefulness
Could get along so well.
Five was strength, a moderator
A calming force on the contradicting four.
We never worked so well
Before when it was just one.
Poem number 3
What am I suppose to tell you then?
That I’m deep…
I’m not.
That I ‘m still in love…
I’m not. N.O. on that, Doc.
That my emotions are so intense
too intense to express in conventional ways?
What are emotions anyway
but excuses for lame behavior
Really, you’re too ludicrous for words
Do you get this stuff from a book,
Just from your own demented mind huh?
